Along the beachfront there are several taverns and bars that invite you to sit on one of their outdoor terraces with beautiful sea views and offer the delicious Corfiot food. There are water sport activities and boat renting companies at Barbati beach. To the North, you can find several small lovely bays and cosy beaches which are good for swimming as well as fishing. The sea in the Barbati area is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. Lessons and diving sessions can be arranged at the local PADI dive school. There are also horse-riding, mountain biking and hiking options in the Barbati area. Ipsos, with its lively nightlife, many bars, restaurants and shops located on the promenade along the beach, lies within 3 km from Barbati.
Corfu or Kerkyra, as the Greek call it themselves, is one of the most beautiful and green islands of Greece. Located on the north-western side of the country, Corfu island has a cosmopolitan feeling combined with a special traditional character. Venetian, French and British occupiers have all helped to shape the islands’ architecture, culture, cuisine and contributed to the unique feel of Ionian life. Beautiful Paleokastritsa, Kassiopi, Acharavi and many other lovely villages offer amazing nature, great beaches and the warm hospitality of the local people. Set apart from all these, the island’s highlight is Old Corfu Town with its characteristic Venetian style and many cultural events. Holidays in Corfu can be combined with visits to other beautiful Ionian islands, such as Paxos and Antipaxos.
